Abstract
This chapter explores how the synthetic control method could be applied in communication research by exposing brief examples. Furthermore, a case study on news trust in Brazil is applied. This explains how you can obtain important results using methods and instruments of comparative evaluations, which have broad support mainly in political science and economics, within the field of social studies.
