Abstract

The present article suggests the strengthening of the affirma?tive action’s policies that favor the educational inclusion of minorities, or traditionally excluded groups, such as Quilloac Community´s natives. Although they are present in the dif?ferent spaces of the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana and they integrate themselves into several careers of its Cuenca sede, their presence as such does not mean inclusion, for an intercultural coexistence relation that involves all students in the university is needed. The realization of forums, talks, and workshops on cultural identity expressed in the kichwa language, the Andean Cosmo vision, the knowledge by ances?tors, food, art, and music, correspond to a system of affirma?tive actions that will not only directly impact on the natives´ individual self-esteem improvement because it values their origin and those of the mestizo students, thanks to the access they will have to this rich cultural wealth.,The present article suggests the strengthening of the affirma-tive action’s policies that favor the educational inclusion of minorities, or traditionally excluded groups, such as Quilloac Community ́s natives.
