Abstract

This academic article is the result of a participatory action research process that gathers the experiences of Pamba Radio, located in the Pambachupa neighborhood of the city of Quito, with the participation of residents of the sector, organizations such as Equali, Servicio de Paz y Justicia del Ecuador (SERPAJ-E) and Chasquikom, as well as teachers and students of the Communication Career of the UPS, as part of a process of experimentation in the classroom, through the design and implementation of projects that seek the resolution of conflicts and needs of the population; as well as the link with society and the exercise of a pre-professional practice of communication. The objective of this research focuses on the analysis of audience participation processes, the incidence of community media in the population of Pambachupa and innovation in the use of new technologies for the production of sound narratives. In addition, this study associates qualitative and quantitative data. On the one hand, it allowed an exploratory approach to characterize the population of the Pambachupa sector and to exchange ideas through interviews and focus groups; on the other hand, it relied on content analysis to study the radio products broadcast in the community. All this in a reflective framework on the communicative practices and developments whose contents were linked to the beneficiary population.
