Abstract
This paper analyzes the impact of the energy crisis in Ecuador, and how it affects the emotional, social and economic life of citizens. The country is dependent on hydroelectric plants, which have suffered blackouts due to factors such as drought, overloading of infrastructure and lack of investment. These blackouts not only interrupt daily activities, but also generate stress, anxiety and depression among citizens. The research is bibliographic and descriptive, with a quantitative approach, using the survey technique taking as a sample 100 people from the main cities of Guayaquil, Quito and Cuenca, the population is between 7 to 65 years, it is evident that a high percentage experience symptoms of anxiety and depression related to the uncertainty of power outages. In addition, they disrupt economic productivity, increasing unemployment and creating family tensions due to lack of resources. Despite the government's attempts to improve the situation with measures such as rationing and the promotion of renewable energies, the energy crisis persists, which generates social discontent. It is concluded that investments in energy infrastructure, renewable sources and psychological support are needed. It is also recommended to improve energy management and promote supportive economic policies, together with greater awareness of efficient energy use.
