Abstract

Marxism, regardless of the stance taken towards it, was perceived for a long time as synonymous with a philosophy and a political-social movement essentially linked to a program to transform the world, since it was presented precisely as a theoretical and practical perspective for the subversion of the order established by capitalism and its consequent culture of competition between human beings degraded to mere merchants. In other words, even if it was fought against, Marxism was often seen as an alternative force in which the idea that the world can be transformed in favor of “the damned of the earth” was embodied and made programmatic. Let us recall here, by way of simple illustration, Marx's famous and oft-quoted eleventh thesis on Feuerbach, which rightly emphasizes the aspect that it is a matter of transforming the world.
