Abstract
This paper presents a brief overview of the history of Ecuador from its founding to the present. As the development of the historical processes is presented, a review of the characteristics of Ecuadorian education is made and three pedagogical alternatives are proposed that in some way cement the educational and pedagogical utopias for the construction of a more equitable society.
