Abstract
Education in Latin America faces serious inequalities, particularly in access to quality education for impoverished sectors. In light of this situation, it is proposed that Don Bosco's Preventive System offers valuable elements for developing a pedagogy that addresses these issues and provides both didactic solutions and approaches grounded in ethical values and principles. The aim of this paper is to analyze active pedagogy, interculturality, and otherness within the Salesian Preventive System as potential responses to these educational challenges. The methodology used is qualitative, employing the hermeneutic method to understand how these elements are applied within the Salesian pedagogical framework. Among the findings, it is highlighted that active pedagogy within the Salesian Preventive System not only enhances learning but also enriches the educational experience through the lenses of otherness and interculturality. The study concludes that Salesian pedagogy offers valuable tools for developing an educational approach that addresses educational inequalities in Latin America and fosters youth protagonism.
