Abstract

Transformers are a fundamental part of electrical distribution systems, thence, it's necessary to study phenomena that could damage them. It's well known that one of the most significant damages is caused by partial discharges. Therefore, this study aims to develop an analysis using mathematical morphology of the partial discharges. The simulation of partial discharges models was developed in the Alternative Transients Program, performing mathematical morphology transformations like: opening, closing, dilation and erosion, filtering and analyzing these signals simulations for each node of transformer winding. Furthermore, different transformations were developed considering different structural elements for the transformer.
