Abstract
This chapter examines the research conducted on the teaching-learning process of social sciences in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, based on the various challenges observed in the educational process of the subject among seventh-grade students at a private educational institution. The interest in this study stems from the fact that, currently, there is a wide range of digital tools that can strengthen and optimize educational processes; however, traditional tools are still frequently used. For this reason, it is essential to expand knowledge about the use of digital resources in order to apply them in educational settings when facing situations similar to those experienced during the pandemic. The research helps us understand the importance of addressing the specific needs of students, considering that not all students develop in the same context. It is precisely these differences that give rise to educational gaps. The article is divided into several sections. The first part discusses the various categories developed in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, specifically regarding the teaching-learning process and the social sciences. The second part outlines the methodology used to carry out the study. The third section presents the results obtained throughout the research; the fourth section contains the conclusions; and finally, the bibliography that served as the theoretical framework for the research.
