This book is the effort of several authors presenting summaries of their research work supported as a master's thesis, for each chapter. In the first chapter, mention is made of the audit departments in telecommunication companies that spend a lot of time and effort trying to find causes for problems that occur in their systems, consuming a lot of time in this and generating economic losses by not detecting them. Due to this, a methodology is developed that allows the construction of alarms or reports automatically as well as the help to determine the root cause of each problem found. The second chapter, has as general objective to propose a solution of optimization in the flow of the institutional academic information, applied on the System of Academic Teaching Information, where the majority of records related to the generation of institutional evidences of university accreditation are stored, internal control of academic processes, research, linkage with the community and of management, with analysis of optimization of the flow of information based on the use of the KP algorithm. The third chapter deals with the autonomous heterogeneous databases and describes a mechanism to use partially or totally the data stored in them, with the objective of establishing their incidence to calculate several indicators of the Generic Model of Career Evaluation, considering as a case study the careers of the Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo. The development of a computer solution that interconnects autonomous databases is presented. In the fourth chapter, a system for the backup of information from virtual environments and computers of final users through the LAN is made, covering, for this purpose, the analysis, design and implementation at laboratory level, of a specialized backup system for these environments. In this way, its performance and feasibility of execution were tested from a technical point of view. AVAMAR, emerges as an alternative solution to face the challenges of those IT environments where backups demand more agile recovery responses.
