This document shows a solution to minimize the number of access points (AP) required in the design of a set of users to be distributed in a wireless local area network (LAN) with the creation of an optimization model, which aims to minimize the number of candidate sites to deliver a service to each user and reduce the use of resources, which will be subject to coverage restrictions, capacity and loss of free space (FSL). The coverage restriction will be based on the characteristics provided by each AP used in function of its limitation to allow a connection between the candidate site and the user, which must be within its coverage radius. The second capacity constraint, also associated with the characteristics of APs, together with the coverage constraint will allow a connection to users within the coverage range and a specific number of receivers that can support each AP. Finally, for the third restriction, the FSL value will be calculated for each distance found between the APs that will result in an average loss which will serve as a reference to condition the connection.
