The evaluation of the electrical parameters by means of phasorial measurement units in the power systems is fundamental, since with the data obtained the estimation of the state of their operation is made. In the present investigation, the problem arises for the optimal deployment of phasorial measurement units, respecting observability restrictions, redundancy and N-1 contingencies. The minimization of units considers the output of a transmission line or the failure of a phasorial measurement unit and guarantees 100 % observability of the power system; for the optimization, integer linear mixed programming was used. The proposed algorithm was tested with IEEE test models of 9, 14, 30 and 118 nodes.
