Abstract
Planning of distribution systems is a crucial aspect in energy management and the electrical design, which with the application of optimization methodologies allow to achieve a correct performance of the electrical system. This document proposes an alternative aimed at optimizing the location of transformation centers and their sizing considering georeferenced areas from which user and candidate sites locations, possible routes of the electric network, and data for the reconstruction of the scenario are obtained. Clustering and triangulation methods are applied for user sectorization, random demand assignment, and the construction of a graph with which after applying the Prim and Greedy algorithms the number of candidate sites is minimized to subsequently determine the size of the active transformers based on the assigned coverage and thereby determine the voltage drops in secondary circuits. Additionally, the execution times of the proposed method are obtained by making several changes to the restrictive parameters of the model. The optimal locations of the transformations centers and their capacity are established, and the validity of the results is verified by means analyzing the voltages drops that are present in the network.
