Abstract
The current pandemic tested the organizational capacity of all countries in the world. The need to deal with health emergencies resulting from a rapidly spreading virus set off alarm bells in global society. There have been multiple responses to a unique problem called COVID-19. However, the first general recommendation provided from the World Health Organization (WHO) was social isolation. The suggestion to stay away is intended to decrease the level of contagion. In order to comply with the WHO's recommendation, States implemented bans on citizen circulation, closed commercial and recreational spaces; jobs were transferred to teleworking and, of course, educational centers in more than 190 countries modified their routines from one day to the next. In the Ecuadorian case, the last day that children and young people attended educational institutions was Friday, March 13. On Sunday night, March 15, the President of the Republic announced the mobility restrictions and mentioned "I inform that classes continue to be suspended. Teachers and students should stay at home - he added - the teleducation platform is being developed".
