Abstract

This text presents the reflections generated from the experience of the research project Memory as an element of community formation in Lloa, of the Salesian Polytechnic University. It shows different narratives registered among the population of the sector and some reflections around them from the proposal of Maurice Halbwachs and Henri Bergson, so that those who review it can reflect on the different narratives registered around the topic of suicide and the ethical-political implications that a research process of this type implies. In the end, it is recognized that there are narratives about Lloa contained in plural memories. Each story shapes the community, real and imagined sense of the area with multiple ways of telling and constructing the memories of a town marked by the proximity to the Guagua Pichincha volcano and lately the shadow of suicide.
