Abstract

Mutante. org makes its public appearance on October 8, 2018, under the motto: “speak, understand and act”. According to their website, they are an "independent alternative to deal with fake news, the tyranny of clicks and scandals, and public agendas made from private pockets." But Mutante had been in the making for a long time, when Juan Camilo Maldonado and Nicolás Vallejo, worked together in the Colombian newspaper El Espectador, Juan Camilo as editor of the Bogotá section and Nicolás as editor of Shock Magazine, a production of that journalistic house. Years later they are part of the founding team of Vice Colombia, where Maldonado is director of content and Vallejo creative director and director of music channels. In this space, motivated by directing a national media outlet and having undertaken a project since its inception, they create a youth platform called "Pacifista" to socialize the peace agreements signed in Havana, between the Colombian government chaired by Juan Manuel Santosand the FARC-EP, as a way of accompanying civil society to said process.
