Abstract

English language proficiency has become an essential tool for today's society due to its preeminent role as a lingua franca in international communication, scientific research, and business. This article aims to create a multisensory immersive application based on virtual reality (VR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support the English language teaching process in the skills of pronunciation and grammar, through audio recognition and navigation in immersive interactive environments. This system, driven by neural networks, can accurately identify the user's pronunciation, to subsequently generate virtual scenarios where the student can practice and learn the grammar through the representation and interaction with virtual scenarios that were created for interactive and dynamic learning where the culture and representative places of different countries are shown to offer a new experience and greater motivation when learning a new language. Among the results obtained, it was observed that the neural network achieved an effectiveness of 94.45% in audio recognition, while in an uncontrolled environment, it reached a percentage of 75% to 96.1%, which reflects the robustness and accuracy of the system. In addition, students who used this technology showed an acceptance rate of 94%, which evidences its high impact on the acceptance of the use of these technologies to be used in the learning process and its potential to improve different skills through immersive environments. This approach integrates advanced technology with innovative pedagogical methods, promising to transform the way students learn languages and experience cultural diversity in an increasingly connected world.
