Abstract

This document presents the study of the main communication protocols of the vehicle, emphasizing the CAN protocol that is used for the monitoring, diagnosis and control of the variables involved in its operation. In addition, it shows the base structure for the design and implementation of applications developed for Volkswagen Golf and Kia Soul EV vehicles, where the user can monitor and control different systems of the vehicle corresponds to the comfort system as the lighting system, central locking, among others. In the development an Arduino card with CAN shield was used as hardware, and the LabVIEW programming platform was used for software development. The developed user interfaces not only allow the reading of the CAN frames present in the bus, but also the writing of data and the real-time visualization of the variables of these systems. The infrastructure of interconnection with the CAN bus of the vehicle is low cost and the results obtained are very satisfactory having latency times below 100ms.
