Abstract
The concentration of nitrogen dioxide in the 3 micro-scale measurement stations analyzed, located in the urban canyons of Larga, Vega Muñoz and Presidente Córdova streets, are higher than the rest of the stations in the urban area of Cuenca whose measurements correspond to urban and neighborhoods (urban background). To determine the influence of urban traffic on the increase in such concentrations, the correlation of vehicular traffic, the concentration of pollutants, the geometry of the route and the meteorology are analyzed; In addition, some applicable atmospheric dispersion models are applied and compared in the presence of the Canyon effect, such as: CALINE4 (California Line Source Dispersion Model), OSPM (Operational Street Pollution Model) and the US-EPA ISC3 (Industrial Source Complex) model. .
