Abstract
As Don Bosco consolidated his work, his fame spread outside Italy and he began to receive a number of requests, especially from bishops, to send his nascent Congregation to different countries and continents. Most of these requests asked for priests to take care of the Italian migrants who, in the second half of the 19th century, were becoming more and more numerous. None of these requests expressed the desire for Salesians to work with non-evangelized groups (Lenti, 2012, p. 85).
