Abstract

Wastewater has become a high-level problem in cities, its processes involve components that become difficult to treat, and for this reason companies do not take charge, leaving them adrift and allowing their toxicity to be reflected in the waters. down. The conventional methods of wastewater treatment plants turn out to be efficient under certain circumstances, however, they demand land and economic expenses; because of this, alternatives are sought; Constructed wetlands are alternative technologies that do not require much space, and the processes are based on hydraulic considerations and characteristics of the vegetation that make up the wetland. In the present work, a complex of sub-surface artificial wetlands was designed, with the characterization of the residual water from a local mining extraction plant, the main characteristics were: free cyanide (11 mg/L), total solids (3116 mg/ L), Arsenic (260 mg/L), and other chemical, biological and physical characteristics.
