Abstract

Troubleshooting in electrical systems, especially in distribution systems, is a problem that affects not only the users, but also the companies that provide the electric service; with more time invested in this period, there is an increase in the losses due to unbilled energy and the inconvenience to the users. losses due to unbilled energy and inconvenience to users, decreasing the quality of service. the quality of service. There are different causes for which this time is increased, Among these is the confusion that may exist in the location systems that operate in the presence of distributed generation sources. the presence of distributed generation sources in the distribution networks. In In this sense, the present investigation shows a review of the methods used for fault location in for the location of faults in electrical distribution systems with the presence of distributed generation sources. The main characteristics of the methods are studied and their most recent applications to deal with this problem.
