Abstract
The I International Congress on Bioengineering and Intelligent Rehabilitation Systems was held in Quito, capital of Ecuador. It was organized by professors and researchers from the Escuela Politécnica Nacional (EPN), Universidad Politécnica Salesiana (UPS), Universitat Politécnica de Valencia (UPV), Universidad Técnica del Norte (UTN), Escuela Superior Politécnica del Chimborazo (ESPOCH), Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas (ESPE), Universidad Central del Ecuador (UCE), Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL), Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ), Universidad de Las Américas (UDLA) and Universidad Mariana de Colombia. All of them universities that have worked rigorously for the creation of an academic program that serves as a framework for research and the exchange of knowledge and experiences, as well as for the development of collaboration opportunities to promote the dissemination of technologies related to these fields. This congress was aimed at academics as well as professionals and students interested in sharing knowledge and experiences in the areas of Bioengineering and Intelligent Rehabilitation Systems. Currently, the growing technological advances in the fields of Bioengineering and Rehabilitation Systems, makes necessary the availability of a space for the dissemination of research that has been developed in higher education and research institutions dedicated to these works.
