Abstract
The chapter describes the perceptions that the Ecuadorian electorate had about the media in the 2021 presidential elections. During this period, a sector of public opinion perceived that the big corporate media had their favorite candidates close to right-wing positions, while the left-wing candidates denounced that they received attacks. The results of citizen perception come from the Política y Emociones in Ecuador study carried out by the Equipo de Investigaciones Política of the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela. It is observed that traditional media such as television and print newspapers had greater credibility than the average of all media; and that in general they had low credibility during the electoral process.
