Meddpop: Una Aplicación para Pymes del Sector Salud Basada en Odoo

The purpose of this academic article is to demonstrate the main benefits of the use of an automated system in a medical SME focused on the specialization of otorhinolaryngology using free software and open source technological tools. Using a process optimization approach, the components that allow us to demonstrate the administrative and operational improvement in this SME are developed. The technological architecture used is described based on the needs of this small and medium enterprise, the research methodology used in the information survey is described, a survey is applied, a matrix of indicators is created for each activity of the relevant processes to demonstrate the improvement obtained qualitatively and quantitatively. The results obtained show a productivity comparison based on the time of handling manual activities performed by the doctor and the assistant using the implemented system, where a remarkable advantage can be appreciated after the use of this tool, thus demonstrating that ICTs allow automating processes and help in the organizational improvement of SMEs.
