Abstract
This research was carried out to analyse the susceptibility of mass movements in the surroundings of the Las Monjas River and to check the usefulness of drone and GPS technologies, using a drone that allowed us to take approximately 80 aerial photographs per flight, a differential GPS was then used, for which eight control points and a base were placed in order to collect the data at those points. Finally, the data obtained from the GPS and the photographs obtained from the drone were processed to obtain the Digital Surface Model. We create a velocity model with the coordinates to see the soil's behaviour in the study area. Therefore, this work is of great importance due to the incidence of landslides in the city. For these reasons, in sectors next to streams and slopes, preventive actions are recommended for which the respective studies should be carried out in order to identify the areas susceptible to this type of instability and provide accurate information to the population and the competent bodies that can help to reduce the effects of this phenomenon.
