Abstract
The use of technologies in the preservation and conservation of heritage assets is a fun-damental issue in the Ecuadorian context, and is supported by the current regulatory framework. Ecuador, heir to an enormous cultural and natural heritage, has adopted international laws and regulations that encourage the use of technologies to protect and maintain its historical and cultural legacy. The chapter emphasizes the importance of knowing these regulations and establishing alliances between government institutions, academics and local communities in the preservation of Ecuadorian heritage. The need for sustainable and equitable management of heritage with the appropriate use of tech-nologies is recommended, which guarantees its protection and preservation for future generations.
