Abstract

This paper studies the recognition of a plurinational State and the construction of the public space embodied in the national plans of good living since 2009. These plans have created conditions that favor the valuation of indigenous culture and identity, and the new generation of Kichwas of the Puruwa people assume a process of valuation of their culture and the elements that compose it, despite the fact that in the city the identity presence of the urban indigenous is presented with a diffuse discourse based on the use of elements such as clothing and language in a functional way. It is also considered that some of the characteristics identified are based on a process of investigation of the cultural processes that young Puruwaes carry out, which allows them to generate a new identity discourse in the city, so that the cultural process inherited by their ancestors is not misrepresented.
