Abstract
The link between the university and the environment is a widely debated topic at the international level; however, the teaching commitment in the execution of this aca-demic function is an area little commented on. This work carries out an analysis of the relationship between uni-versity and society and its impact on teaching. The research was carried out through a case study at the Salesian Polytechnic University of Ecuador from its experience in social bonding projects. The methodology used for the analysis of the projects takes the scientific bases of the model from the Working With People model, especially suitable for the planning of develop-ment projects of high social complexity. The information comes from the review of different sources of information on the contextualization of the topic of University-Society Linkage, as well as infor-mation from the database of the projects of the UPS linkage office. These results have been analyzed from the WWP model for the planning of University-Society Linking Projects and highlight, on the one hand, the contribution of the UPS to the development of disad-vantaged sectors from the three dimensions technical-economic, political -contextual and ethical-social; as well as the incidence of these, in the teaching space.
