Abstract
This study presents a systematic literature review (SLR) using a sequential-convergent methodological approach (M3S), which integrates systematic review (SLR), systematic mapping (SLM), and bibliometric analysis (BAL) to examine LegalTech governance models in Ecuador between 2008 and 2025. The objective is to characterize technological governance in the legal field, identify notable experiences, and identify the main challenges related to artificial intelligence, infrastructure, and cybersecurity. The research also addresses the effects of digitization and regulatory frameworks on Ecuadorian justice. The findings show significant progress, although important gaps remain, such as the absence of a comprehensive model that articulates constitutional, legal, institutional, and technological dimensions. It concludes that Ecuador requires coherent LegalTech governance that prioritizes digital inclusion and technological training to ensure equitable access to justice. The study underscores the urgency of aligning technological adoption with institutional strengthening and ethical considerations in emerging contexts.
