Abstract

This book presents a comprehensive analysis of the financial situation of small and medium-sized businesses in Ecuador during the COVID-19 pandemic, addressing one of the most critical issues in the current economic environment. The work compiles research developed as undergraduate academic articles in the Accounting and Auditing Program at the Salesiana Polytechnic University, Guayaquil headquarters, and is part of the project “Financial situation, control and management of organizations.” The studies carried out by members of the Applied Financial and Accounting Research Group (GIFCA) explore various economic sectors; They identify and analyze the main problems that have affected SMEs during the health crisis. Each chapter presents a specific view of the challenges faced during the pandemic. An essential for academics, students, professionals and anyone interested in understanding the impact of the pandemic on the finances of SMEs in Ecuador, as well as discovering key lessons for financial management in times of crisis.
