La Relación entre la Falta de Vivienda y Servicios Básicos y la Productividad Laboral: Un Estudio de Caso

This scientific article seeks to determine the impact of inadequate housing and lack of basic services on the labor productivity of low-income households in the Balerio Estacio Cooperative, located in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Using a quantitative and correlational approach, a questionnaire was administered to 148 residents of the area. The results show a correlation of 0.461 with a p-value of 0.001 < the significance level of 0.05, revealing statistical evidence that the lack of housing and basic services does impact labor productivity. In this sense, precarious housing conditions, the existence of informal settlements, and the lack of basic infrastructure have a significant impact on workers' productive capacity, limiting their performance and perpetuating a cycle of poverty.
