The history of the Salesian presence is accessible through many writings written by the Salesians themselves or by external writers identified with their mission. These writings are predominantly of a celebratory and homage nature around the main events that marked the development of the Salesian work. The reviews, published through the official organ of the Salesian family (Salesian Bulletin) and in the print media, aimed to propose edifying profiles to young people and generate acceptance in public opinion, since the sustainability and permanence of the works depended to a great extent on it. The Salesians in Ecuador are no exception, inheriting a practice cultivated by the founder himself, St. John Bosco, for whom documenting and reporting on the progress of each initiative and highlighting the actors in each case was an intense and delicate effort to gain the support of the public authorities, public opinion and benefactors.
