Abstract
This article recovers part of the results of the investigation Indigenous women and higher education, developed by the GroupResearch Education and Interculturality of the University Salesian Polytechnic of Ecuador (UPS). The investigation was developed between 2017 and 2018, and its main purpose was to analyze the role of higher education in empowerment, autonomy and emancipation of indigenous women. The research took as a case study the experience of eight indigenous Kichwa women who attended the Career of Intercultural Bilingual Education of the UPS.
