Abstract
The task of researching the origins of children's literature involves encountering a vast amount of information that analyzes its origin and reflects on the criteria for determining what is children's literature and what is not. However, it is important to recognize that literature for children has existed since time immemorial. Man has always used oral narration to transmit his stories, ideals, beliefs, superstitions, thus giving birth to the first legends and tales, entering the imagination of children, young people and adults (Colomer, 2001).
