Abstract
The general purpose of this research is to determine to what extent technological innovation impacts the competitiveness of software development companies in the city of Guayaquil. This research has a correlational scope and its approach is quantitative. The results reveal a statistically significant Spearman's rho correlation coefficient of 0.877, which indicates that there is statistical evidence to demonstrate and affirm that technological innovation does have an impact on the competitiveness of companies. This fact leads to think that there have been advances and improvements in the companies that develop software in the city of Guayaquil, which responds to the strategies generated to generate competitive advantages improving the levels of competitiveness in this industry.
