Abstract

ICTs are a starting point and will often make the difference between exclusion and inclusion. From this perspective, if we do not use inclusive technologies in the classroom, it is likely that we are contributing to such exclusion. The present text offers the educational community several experiences related to the use of information and communication technologies as a support resource in the education of students with disabilities, experiences that arise as, a result of the research project called "Study of the Applicability of the Functional Ecological Approach in the Education of Students with Disabilities in Ecuador", executed by the Inclusive Education Research Group (GEI) of the Salesian Polytechnic University of Ecuador between January 2016 and June 2017. The aforementioned project was developed within the framework of the continuing education course "Curriculum Design from a functional ecological perspective", sponsored by CBM International in which teachers and managers from educational institutions across the country participated and provided their contribution to the project as direct informants and collecting information that allowed the analysis of the state of the educational situation of students with disabilities in the country.
