Abstract
Inclusive education is consolidated as a fundamental pillar for educational and social development, encompassing the entire community. This approach moves away from homogeneity to value the diversity of students, promoting their full participation as subjects of rights. Diversity is a source of wealth and a constant challenge, especially in higher education, where institutions strive to create accessible and equitable environments. Despite progress, as evidenced by enrollment data for people with disabilities in ecuadorian universities, inclusion goes beyond simple access. It requires an in-depth evaluation of students educational experiences to ensure that policies and strategies are truly effective. This article aims to describe inclusive practice at the Salesian Polytechnic University (UPS) through the perspective of students with disabilities, who have been catalysts for these processes. UPS, with the support of the UNESCO Chair in Assistive Technologies for Educational Inclusion, has implemented significant efforts over the last ten years. Using a descriptive methodology, this research seeks to assess the impact of these initiatives and determine whether they respond to the real needs of students. The findings not only contribute to strengthening inclusive practices at UPS, but will also offer a valuable contribution to higher education in general, helping it meet the Sustainable Development Goals and ensure quality and equitable education for all.
