Abstract

Technology advances every day in search of making the interaction of people with the world of work easier and easier. Thus Technical Drawing, in another era was a tiring job in its manual development and its demanding precision submerged the draftsman in moments of stress and mental fatigue, but today has changed its context because we have the AutoCAD software which is a fantastic tool and that as an auxiliary of drawing makes the task easier, less stressful and even fun once its application is mastered, since it is possible to visualize the object three-dimensionally, verify and even simulate the coupling of the elements that make up a set. This text is born with the idea of joining the Technical Drawing with AutoCAD in three dimensions, so that the work environment becomes friendly, so it starts from the basics which is to open a file in the software, configure the work area, learning and use of drawing tools, editing, modeling, dimensioning, etc.. The course starts with the AutoCAD in 3 dimensions in the 2016 version (license acquired by the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana del Ecuador) with the rules of Mechanical Technical Drawing, where the types of lines, dimensioning rules, formats, etc. are listed and explained, and how to configure and apply them with the support of the software. In order to gain experience in the application of both drawing standards and AutoCAD, practical applications are presented, some of them (the most complex ones) have a step-by-step tutorial with explanations and resolution images. In the final part and as a type of development project, general plans, explosion, assembly and the exploded view of a mechanical assembly are presented, in this case a bench vice or notch, with the purpose that the user of the text can draw them on the computer without the need to be guided by another person, thus verifying their learning of both the Mechanical Technical Drawing and the 3D environment of AutoCAD 2016 software.
