This article treats the problem of interculturality and inter-cultural education in general and then, in particular, intercultural education within Ecuador. to arrive at this goal: (a) notions like pluriculturalty, multiculturality and interculturality will be described; (b) a concise presentation of the reality of interculturality will be given with an emphasis upon the intercultural reality within Ecuador; (c) the current laws that refer to intercultural education for Ecuador will be considered; (d) finally, a critical evaluation will be presented concerning the real possibility for the practice of interculturality in general, and of intercultural education within Ecuador, in particular.
