Abstract

The replacement of meters does not have the technology to be integrated into an advanced metering infrastructure is a global need. However, it is a significant contribution to enable scenarios for new energy markets that result in benefits for all actors in the electricity system; it carries with it significant challenges at all levels, including the study for its deployment and choice of appropriate technology, the result of the cost-benefit analysis is a determining factor in its adoption. This paper presents a literature review associated with different topics that address this problem of cost optimization in collecting information from smart electricity meters according to the behavioral characteristics of users. The study conducted through a literature review of databases such as IEEE Xplore, Science Direct, MDPI, Springer, Taylor & Francis, and Scielo finds several critical aspects of metering infrastructures, such as existing data, trends in technical communication and resource optimization trends used for this purpose. It also establishes several criteria associated with planning smart metering systems deployment.
