Abstract
This publication, prepared by professors and researchers from the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana, emerges as a committed response to the need to promote digital inclusion for older adults, their autonomy, and technological empowerment. The book includes educational, practical, and accessible content, introduces fundamental concepts of artificial intelligence, and shows how tools such as virtual assistants, smart sensors, security systems, and health applications can contribute to the physical, emotional, and social well-being of the population. The work clearly explains basic concepts about AI, and the virtual assistants complement the reader's self-learning with exercises and practical activities. This book presents material with a technical, educational, and social approach, highly relevant for training programs in computing, ICT, digital health, inclusion, and continuing education. "Artificial Intelligence and Quality of Life" offers a proposal that allows the reader to implement artificial intelligence (AI) in their home and daily activities, thereby improving their well-being, autonomy, and inclusion.
