Abstract

"ECOLOGY OFINFORMATION: Un recorrido práctico de la comunicación", like the first publication, aims to make visible the theoretical and methodological perspectives used by Communication students of the Salesian Polytechnic University. Scientific research as a practice allows students to investigate the reality of social communication problems. The research is not only based on the theoretical subjects received, but also on the social practices that the students carry out for their academic training. One of the most important achievements of the Communication Career of the Salesian Polytechnic University has been to carry out a continuous methodological proposal that allows evaluating the work of students in the classroom. Starting from a fundamental question: how to put into practice what has been learned?Finally, the activity that has made the academic work of students and teachers of the career visible, has been the activity of creation and publication. On the other hand, it is important to clarify that the coordination for research is aligned to the research groups and teaching senates; thus, the planning and generation of research material by students depends on the guidelines that give meaning to each of the senates or research groups; the lines of research of the senates are: Communication Theories, Socio-Cultural Contexts, Planning, Narratives, Language, and Research. The improvement in the evaluation processes of scientific and academic constructions is visible; these have become referents for the professional practice of teachers and students, institutionalizing in the career a continuous practice of teaching accompaniment in the processes of scientific research. The CODEPO research group carries out this initiative, and leads the information ecology as a theoretical and methodological reflection, which recovers the academic, theoretical and practical competences of students, achieving the teaching-learning process and knowledge in the academic and professional field. This book, like the first publication, problematizes the concept of information ecology as a procedure, through a recycling of knowledge; a concept used from the information ecology approach, which metaphorically implies not an analogy with the diversity of the biological world; rather, it is the answer that advocates a different vision around the theoretical or academic approach to communication for teaching and learning. The ecology of information proposes the management of information in various dimensions, not only from information technologies. In this sense, the idea of recycling from the ecology of information implies an act of sensitization towards and for the creation of knowledge. The book is composed of three sections, the first section Digital Communication, which emphasizes the role of the media and new information technologies. Unlike traditional communication, it reflects on knowledge and information exchange in different spheres. In the article Credibility.
