Abstract
Introduction: Postural hygiene represents a set of measures aimed at preventing musculoskeletal disorders. Objective: To determine the impact of community awareness campaigns on the level of knowledge about postural hygiene among residents of the Nueva Vida community in Guayaquil. Methods: A quantitative, observational and descriptive study was conducted. Judgment sampling was used, including 24 participants from the Nueva Vida community in Guayaquil, between November 2024 and August 2025, using a validated Postural Hygiene Questionnaire. Results: The level of knowledge about postural hygiene prior to the awareness campaign registered a mean of 14,791 ± 4,383 correct answers, and subsequently registered 19,125 ± 7,146; an increase of 14.44% in the level of knowledge about postural hygiene. A high school diploma or university degree was associated with a higher level of knowledge about postural hygiene (p=0.019). Conclusions: Community awareness campaigns have a positive impact on the level of knowledge about postural hygiene.
