Abstract
This book deals with diversion works and includes the hydromechanical, goemechanical and material mechanics components, as well as the technical and economic optimization procedures related to the closure dams and the diversion tunnel. For the closure dams, the proposed material corresponds to seepage, deformation and slope stability analyses, applicable to local material dams, and for the hydraulic diversion tunnels, the theoretical elements for the hydromechanical, geomechanical and material mechanics analyses are developed. one of the chapters derives an algorithm, in the form of a general equation, to optimize the design of a diversion system including a construction tunnel.
