Abstract
Since its inception, the Salesian Polytechnic University has cultivated a tradition of reflection on the implications of interculturality with respect to education that is expressed in multiple productions and participation in cooperation and research networks. Lately, studies have emerged that explore the complex relationship between interculturality and the specific field of higher education due to the explicit option of the Salesian University for indigenous peoples and the consequent challenges of the presence of indigenous and Afro-Ecuadorian students at the university.
