Abstract

This paper presents the configuration and infrastructure for the development of a high availability network with critical communications used in Smart Grids (SM). The local area network (LAN) has been designed using 3-layer switches with configuration of Virtual Switching Systems (VSS) and Gateway Load Balancing Protocol (GLBP), the edge routers are configured with Hot Reserve Router Protocol (HSRP). The wide area network (WAN) has been designed over a multiprotocol label switching network (MPLS) and the dynamic multipoint virtual private network (DMVPN) has been configured with encrypted communications.
