Abstract
This article contributes to the reflection on Good Living with respect to education in Ecuador and analyzes the real possibilities for education in the construction of a more just and equitable society, where difference is lived with equality and dignity. An education for the society of Good Living. An education for intercultural practice where other epistemologies, other knowledge, other ways of being and understanding the world, other ways of learning and living come into play. It is proposed to think education from different rationalities, many times subordinated to modern western rationality, traditionally seen as the only true and legitimate one. Thinking of another education implies recognizing and learning from the existing experiences in Ecuador in intercultural education and education and cultural diversity. For this, other pedagogies are necessary, pedagogies for social transformation, pedagogies of relevance and autonomy, pedagogies of resistance, emancipation, liberation and dialogue in conditions of equality, pedagogies respectful of difference, non-homogenizing, of liberation and transformation. These other pedagogies demand creative educational practices and greater teacher creativity; they require the participation of the educational community and the generation of public policies to transform situations of inequity and exclusion. Finally, they are pedagogies of hope.
