Abstract
The Higher Education Institutions of Latin America have not necessarily managed a state-of-the-art scenario in the processes of scientific research, either because their academic tradition was oriented, especially, to the field of teaching or because the potential of their faculty has been underestimated. academics to generate knowledge or, even, by the precarious sources of financing that have supported university projects, for which, historically, teaching and extension have been privileged over research. However, from the aforementioned, it is still true that, on more than one occasion, teaching bodies, often alone and with insufficient university management structures, have solved pertinent solutions to the challenges that their sociocultural environment has presented them. known to require under the investigation function. Given the present duality, it is necessary to demystify those logics that favor the view that research can only be carried out by those with great disciplinary skills or that it is a particular process of those who have a scientific degree of the highest level. The various research classification formulas give us a first guideline to understand that the generation of pure knowledge is as valid as the application of current knowledge; the models of creation or transfer are not better or worse but only according to their results.
