Abstract

This article will explain how technology influences mass culture and is a consequence of a cognitive process that enables the exchange of actions and assessment of the environment. The main objective was to reveal significant information about Ecuadorian community organizations from the technological, capitalist and social reality such as cultural consumption. The study presents a descriptive approach with the direct observation technique in three phases: the investigation of virtual platforms, the visit to the groups and the socio-cultural analysis of the Zhidmad, “We are all one” and GAMMA groups. The results indicate that poverty and social exclusion are determining factors in each group and technological resources are a priority as a means of communication and training in the face of a social reality. It is concluded that the analysis of the groups made it possible to determine shortcomings and value opportunities as popular expressions made visible in Ecuadorian society.
